Tua Tagovailoa has yet another great game for the Dolphins

NFL quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had another strong game for the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The Dolphins defeated the North Carolina Panthers in a 42-21 victory.

Tagovailoa completed 21 of his 31 passes for a total of 262 yards and threw three touchdown passes. The Dolphins are now 5-1 in the regular season.

During the game, Tagovailoa faced rookie quarterback and fellow University of Alabama alum Bryce Young. The two shared a hug at full-time and praised each other in their post-game press conferences.

“I think he’s doing a tremendous job,” Tagovailoa said, according to Sports Illustrated. “There’s going to be times where you’re going to make mistakes because you’re a rookie, and there’s things that when he plays the next game that he wished he knew this game, and he’ll continue to grow from that. I just told him to keep the press, the naysayers, other people, that’s just external factors. They’re going to say what they’re going to say, but you continue to believe in yourself, you continue to do the right things, you’re going to go far.”

According to Sports Illustrated, Young praised Tagovailoa for his work on and off the field.

“Obviously, there were things said between us that I’ll keep between us,” Young said, referencing their conversation at full-time. “But again, great guy, great competitor, great player. It was definitely great to be able to talk, and he definitely did give some words of wisdom and stuff that I’ll hold onto. Great guy, great player. I’m excited for his future as well and to be able to watch and follow that.”

Tagovailoa’s performance on Sunday put him back in the NFL MVP conversations. According to ESPN, he now leads the NFL MVP odds race. Caesars Sportsbook currently lists him as the favorite with 4-1 odds to win.
