SNL sends off Bowen Yang with tearful goodbye sketch

Bowen Yang said a tearful goodbye to Saturday Night Live last night during his last sketch as a castmember.

Earlier this week, news broke that Yang would be leaving the show after spending nearly eight years there.

The show gave Yang a sendoff sketch called “Delta Lounge.” In the sketch, Yang plays a Delta Sky Club employee who is working his last shift with a broken eggnog machine.

A few castmembers appear in the sketch to say goodbye to Yang. He then sang a rendition of “Please Come Home for Christmas,” accompanied by Ariana Grande, the episode’s host, and Cher.

“I just feel so lucky that I ever got to work here. And I just wanted to enjoy it for a little bit longer. Especially the people. I’ve loved every single person who works here,” Yang said tearfully in the sketch.

Registration is closed for Common Ground: Building Together conference and gala award banquet in San Francisco on January 24. A shoutout to our planning committee: Jane Chin, Frank Mah, Jeannie Young, Akemi Tamanaha, Nathan Soohoo, Mark Young, Dave Liu, and Yiming Fu.
